Supervision & Consultation for Therapists

Supporting Play Therapists and Child Counsellors

Whether you are new to incorporating play into your sessions or have been practicing play therapy throughout your career, I am here to support you.

At Pathways Play Therapy Services, my mission is to support children’s mental and emotional wellbeing, strengthen their attachments, and increase their connection to self through the use of play therapy. This is only possible with recognition of the most important healing agent – you, the therapist. As a supervisor, my goal is to support your authentic self and what is most meaningful to you in your play therapy work.

Working primarily from a Synergetic Play Therapy lens, my framework is based in neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology, the brain and nervous system regulation, attachment, and mindfulness. I will support you in understanding what is going on in your sessions at a deeper level, the ways change is occurring, and how to recognize and speed up healing in the play therapy process. Most importantly, I will support you at exploring and experimenting with ways of being that feel in line with who you are and how you want to show up in the playroom.

Some possible areas of focus for our work could include:

  • Learning new ways of working with anger, aggression, and shutdown.
  • Understanding how to support the nervous system and effectively teach regulation in the play therapy process.
  • Deepening your emotional presence and connection with children to facilitate greater and faster healing.
  • Understanding and facilitating children’s use of sand and art in the play therapy process.
  • Moving out of burnout, and increasing your energy and engagement in the playroom.
  • Working with adolescents.
  • Supporting parents in the play therapy process.
